Art Club
- Mrs. Stifel, Advisor. The Art Club is for students who wish to pursue the visual arts for exploring ideas and media, personal growth and portfolio preparation. Club meeting dates are posted outside of room 105. The club is open to all students, even those not currently enrolled in art class.

Canton Adolescents Taking Action (CATA)
- Mrs. Aitchison, Advisor. CATA is a club that works to improve the school and community. Activities that CATA has done are: helped at Neighbors Helping Neighbors, cleaned school grounds, held an annual Winter Clothing Drive, baked and delivered cookies throughout the year to the Canton Food Bank, adopted a family at the holidays and bought them gifts, had student representatives on Focus on Canton. We are always looking for new ways to improve the school and community. Meetings are Thursday mornings at 7:10 am in room 110.
Chemistry Club
- Ms. Ott & Mr. Pereiro, Advisors. Chemistry club is an organization for students who are interested in broadening their horizons in chemistry. Experiments are generally student inspired and extend beyond the typical 50 minute class period. Members are expected to attend each monthly meeting and if possible to provide tutoring to chemistry students in need before or after school weekly. Fundraising is also important for supplies for experiments and to contribute to the Chemistry Club Scholarship awarded to one or more deserving seniors each year.
Creative Writing
– Ms. Kurt, Advisor. A writing group where students share their work with others and receive feedback. All are welcome. The club meets on Thursdays from 2:30 to 3:30 pm beginning the second week of school in room 214.

ESTEEM
- TBD, Advisors. ESTEEM is a group of High School students who present day long workshops to younger students. These students are chosen for their strength of character, willingness to make a commitment and eagerness to participate and make the activity a priority in their busy schedules. These students must also be willing to take a stand against drugs and alcohol.
Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)/Culinary Club
– Mrs. Zenuh, Advisor. An after-school activity to encourage leadership skills, volunteerism, and opportunities to bake, etc. All grades 9-12 are welcome to attend the meetings which are held on Fridays. Reach out to Mrs. Zenuh to join the Google Classroom!
GSA (Genders and Sexuality Alliance)
- Ms. DeVito, Advisor. GSA is a club that meets on Thursdays after school from 2:30-3:30 pm in the choir room. This club is open to any and all students who wish to learn more about topics related to gender and sexuality, and how it relates to current events and culture. This club also works to create awareness in our community through volunteer work, outreach, and by collaborating with other school clubs and community organizations. GSA is a welcoming and safe environment where everyone can be who they wish to be without fear of judgement.
International Club
- Mrs. Schacht, Advisor. International club is for anyone interested in learning about different cultures of the world. Our purpose is to promote cultural diversity and acceptance. Activities include exploring culture through food, conversation, artisan crafts, film and a field trip to have an authentic experience in the community. This club is open to all students whether they are currently taking a world language or not. We will meet every Friday at 7:15 am to plan our after school activity for the month. The date of the after school activity will vary based on member availability. Feel free to stop by any time! We would love to meet you!
Jazz Ensemble
– Mrs. Antonucci, Advisor. The Jazz Ensemble is a full “Big Band,” playing all styles of jazz. The group meets once a week after school, as determined by the director and group. Auditions and rehearsals begin at the discretion of the director.

- Mrs. Antonucci, Advisor. The Jazz Workshop is a non-auditioned full-sized “Big Band,” playing all style of jazz. The group meets once a week, as determined by the director and group. It is open to any students enrolled in the instrumental music program.
LEO Club – Lions International, sponsored by Canton Lions Club
– Mrs. Aitchison/Ms. Mancini, Advisors. Objective and Motto: Lions Clubs International adopted the LEO Club Program as an official program of the association in 1967. Open to males and females, the objective of the Leo Club Program was (and still is) "... to provide the youth of the world (with) an opportunity for development and contribution, individually and collectively, as responsible members of the local, national, and international community". The Leo Club motto is: Leadership - Leos develop skills as organizers, time managers, and motivators of their peers. Experience - Leos learn the importance of cooperation through community service. Opportunity - Membership provides young people with a chance to excel, to develop positive character traits, and to receive recognition for their contribution to the community. Today, the Leo Club Program is stronger than ever. Community service remains the cornerstone of the program. Like their Lion counterparts, Leo club members enjoy serving their neighbors and watching positive results unfold. Math Team
- Mrs. Aitchison/Mr. Aurelli, Advisors. Canton High School is a member of the Capital Area Mathematics League (CAML). The team competes in monthly meets October through March, and a banquet is held in April when teams and individuals are recognized. Members are sophomores through seniors who have been recommended by a teacher.
Model U.N.
– Ms. Mocarski, Advisor. The purpose of the Model UN Club is to foster international awareness of global issues through the process of simulation and debate. Students act as delegates from assigned countries and debate, compromise, and support resolutions to solve world problems when they attend Model UN conferences. Conferences include two overnight field trips to UCONN and Yale, and day trips to the University of Hartford. The club meets almost weekly in room 226 the first semester. See Ms. Mocarski for details.

National Honor Society
– Ms. Mancini, Advisor. National Honor Society is a group of students who demonstrate excellence in four areas of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Membership is invitation only (10.5000 cumulative GPA) and new members are chosen through a selective process by a faculty council consisting of five teachers. NHS strives to to uphold it's standards and provide leadership and service to the school and community. Activities range from co-hosting Spirit Week to providing a tutoring service to all students. NHS meets Tuesday mornings at 7:15 am.
Northern Regional Music Festival
– Mrs. Antonucci/Mr. Jones, Advisors. Participation in this festival is by audition only, and suggested literature is listed for choral and instructional audition. The two-day festival is sponsored by the CT Music Educators Association and takes place in January of each year. Auditions are held in November of the preceding year.
The Canton Journal - CHS's online magazine
- Ms. Kurt, Advisor. The club is for student journalists, writers, artists and photographers who are interested in writing, creating, and publishing in a variety of genres. Students participate in all aspects of creating a quarterly magazine which is published for the school and local community.

Robotics Club
- Mr. Richard, Advisor. The CHS Robotics Team works yearly in a global competition known as FIRST Tech Challenge. Our team, Automata Legitimus, develops competitive robots which are solely built, programmed, and piloted by CHS students. The team also works to extend STEM learning opportunities to students throughout the Canton Public Schools.

Science National Honor Society
– Ms. Ott, Advisor. Science National Honor Society is a group of students who demonstrate excellence in the sciences and are devoted to encouraging participation in and recognizing scientific and intellectual thought. Membership is by invitation only, where students must have a 10.0 cumulative GPA, a 7.0 un-weighted (B- or better) Science GPA in AP science classes, and a 10.0 un-weighted (A- or better) Science GPA in honors and academic science classes during or prior to the twelfth grade year. New members are chosen through a selective process by a science faculty council. SNHS strives to uphold its standards and provide leadership and service to the school and community, twenty hours per year is required. SNHS meets Wednesday mornings at 7:15 am in room 130.
SEARCH
– Ms. Jorgensen/Mr. Gawitt, Advisors. This club is designed to allow students the opportunity to participate in the National Ocean Science Bowl at UCONN Avery Point, conduct water quality field research along the Farmington River each year, and to promote environmental awareness of issue in our school community.

Stage Productions/Musicals
- Mrs. Lawler/Mrs. Taylor, Advisors. The CHS Musical Theatre Department presents a full-scale Broadway musical or a dinner and Cabaret in March of each year. All students are invited to audition for solos, chorus, and other important roles. Musicals presented in the past years include “Grease,” “South Pacific,” “Carousel,” and “Les Miserable.”
Student Council
– Ms. Rich, Advisor. The Student Council is a body of elected class officers and interested students who conduct various activities throughout the year (Spirit Week, Mr. CHS, etc.). Student Council meets Wednesday mornings as needed.
Substance Free Students (SFS)
– TBD, Advisor. Substance Free Students get together as a group and plan educational and substance-free activities. We work in the community and with the Community of Concern to promote an atmosphere where students are making healthy choices and developing a peer network to support a substance free lifestyle. SFS meets before school and then at a variety of times as we develop the activities we want to participate in.
Unified Sports
- Unified Sports is an after school program that allows students with disabilities to participate and compete in various activities, while in the process, socialize with their peers and form new friendships. Unified will help improve one's athletic abilities, but more importantly, increase one's self esteem and self confidence. Soccer, basketball, and kickball are just a few of the sports we play throughout the year. We compete against other school districts in the vicinity, and once a month we have a fun outing outside of school. Activities include bowling, mini-golf, and attending sporting events. All are welcome to join!
Yearbook
– Mrs. Hartley, Advisor. For a group of seniors who are interested in becoming a part of the Yearbook staff and are willing to be responsible for all aspects of production. Meeting times will be decided by the staff.
