KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 2024-2025 IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Recent legislation has shifted the school entry ages for Kindergarten, beginning in this upcoming 2024-2025 school year. The legislature passed Public Act 23-208 which changed the cut off birthdate from January 1 of any given school year to September 1 of any given school year. Beginning this upcoming school year, 2024-2025, a child must have turned 5 years old on or before September 1 in order to be automatically eligible for Kindergarten. Additional information can be found from the State Department of Education and from the Office of Early Childhood. With this in mind, there are two paths forward.
1. To parents and guardians of those students born on or before September 1, 2019, Go to this link to fill out the pre-registration form.
2. After completing the form, you will receive an email from PowerSchool with the title of “New Student Registration”. Please make sure you check your spam folder as some have reported it going there.
3. Follow the directions in the email to complete the online registration forms. Please note: you will have the opportunity to upload documents while completing the online registration forms. Documents must be scanned and saved as PDF files, photographs of documents will not be accepted. Size of documents uploaded on this site cannot exceed 10MB per file.
*If you aren't able to upload documents, please either scan or email them to Tracy Ring (tring@cantonschools.org) or bring copies to CBPS Office.
To parents and guardians of those students born between September 2, 2019 and December 31, 2019, a waiver and screening process is required. Those students will not be AUTOMATICALLY eligible to begin Kindergarten until the 2025-2026 school year. If you have a child/ren, born between September 2 and December 31, and are requesting consideration for them to start Kindergarten in 2024-2025 we ask you to:
