Happy Groundhog Day! Unfortunately it looks like 6 more weeks of winter.
I was able to complete the rest of the class' DRA assessment today! Please respond to this email if you would like your child's score. Keep in mind that the benchmark at this point in second grade is a level 24.
In Writer's Workshop the students had to pick a stance on whether they would like 6 more weeks of winter or if they want spring to come early and defend their answer.
In Math the students worked on division number stories.
In Reader's Workshop we talked about revisiting previous nonfiction texts to catch information that they were not ready for the first time.
Thank you to everyone who has sent in cans for the food drive. We are currently at 83 cans...so close to 100!
Homework for tonight is to practice spelling and read for at least 20 minutes. Have a great night!
