Mrs. Kathy Magarian
Room 201
Grade 5 Canton Intermediate School
I have "grown up" as a teacher at the Canton Intermediate School. I started in 1998 as a paraeducator in sixth grade and then went on to earn my teaching certificate at St. Joseph's in West Hartford. I did my student teaching here with my good friend and mentor, Mr. Glasgow. I was then the building substitute for a few months. In 2002 I was hired to teach fifth grade but my story doesn't end there. I moved from fifth to sixth grade in my second year of teaching and finally back to fifth grade where I have been ever since. In the meantime, I raised two wonderful boys who are now young men, one in college and one just graduated from college. Mr. Magarian and I have a pretty quiet house these days but we have two very lively English springer spaniels, Spenser and Henry (both named for book characters), who keep us company.
In my spare time I am an avid bike rider and can be found watching the Tour de France (all 21 days worth) in July!
My favorite bike route up in the Adirondacks, August 2011.
