Research shows that in order to maintain current reading progress and not fall behind, students must read at least 6 books at their reading level over the summer. With all of the great literature out there and our wonderful public library, this shouldn't be hard. It does require some planning and a visit or two (or three...).
~The new Nutmeg list is out for 2014. All of students who read at least 3 of the nominees will have the opportunity to vote - not to mention earn class tickets for the pizza party raffle.
~Finding a series is an easy way to keep a book on deck.
~Another idea is to search out other books by the author of a single book you like.
~The books listed below are suggestions to be used as guides. Feel free to read from any of the lists if one interests you and is your level or as a read aloud with a family member or friend.

Check out our digital bookshelf. These ebooks can be read on your computer or any device capable of accessing the internet. Since only one reader can access the title at a time, it's VERY important that you remember to choose the "Read Online" option and close the book (icon is at the top of the screen - far right) when you are finished for the day.
