Access Citation Maker
1. On the CIS Library website, click the “RESEARCH TOOLS” 2. Click “CITATION/BIBLIOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT GRADE 5" 3.Click Citation Maker link
To create a citation, follow these steps:
- Click on the resource (source type) you want to cite.
- Complete the template form with information from your source. See below for suggestions on what to include.
- When you are done filling out the form, click "Create Citation Below." Your citations will appear below the template in the dotted box.
- Continue this process for each of your sources.
- You may enter multiple citations without losing the previous ones.
- Before you exit Citation Maker, be sure to print your work or copy & paste it into a word processing document that you save. Before you copy & paste, click on "Copy All."
What to include?
- For books: author(s), title, copyright date, publisher and pages used.
Ex: Green, Kelly. Olympics: Then and Now, Children's Press, 2010. Pgs 70-81.
- For websites: title of website, date created, URL (http: address), author -if found
Ex: NBC Vancouver Olympics. 2010. <nbcolympics.com>.
- For encyclopedia: title of article, name of encyclopedia, volume, year of publication, pages used.
Ex:" Olympics the Year." World Book Encyclopedia. Vol. O., 2009. 718-721.
