Jen Merriam Special Education Teacher Canton Intermediate School jmerriam@cantonschools.org (860) 693-7717 x 448 ___________________________________________________________________________________________ I have worked as one of the Special Education Teachers for Canton Intermediate School for the past 9 years. This year, I will be back in the 5th grade! Teaching is a second career for me as I started off life as an accountant/financial adviser. I earned my Masters in Special Education from St. Joseph College in West Hartford in 2003. While earning my degree, I worked as a paraprofessional and waitress. Since becoming a teacher, I met and married my wonderful husband, John and had two beautiful children, Jonah and Jared (now five and four). Jonah's first year of Kindergarten is this year and it is a very exciting time for him (equally for us). My family is my life and, like many of you, what I do I do for them. We also have a gorgeous Shiz Tsu named Kiwi, a Beta named Bubbles and two Hermit Crabs in our family.
