Corbett                                                                  SCHOOL: Canton Middle School POSITION: 7th & 8th Grade Instrumental Music                  7th & 8th Grade Concert Bands                  Middle School Jazz Ensemble EDUCATION: Bachelor of Music, Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford                      Master of Music Education, Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford                                          I have been teaching instrumental music in Canton since 2001.  Prior to coming to Canton I taught instrumental music in the East Lyme, Bloomfield, and Cheshire Public Schools. In 1991, I was named Teacher of the Year  for the Bloomfield Public Schools. Middle School bands under my direction have won numerous awards and recognition including performances at the Connecticut Music Educatorís Conference in Hartford, CT and at the Music Educatorís National Conference, Eastern Division in Rochester New York. The Canton 8th Grade Middle School Bands have consistently won Gold Medal Awards from the Great East Music Festival as well as  Superior ratings at the Musical Carousal Music Festival. I'm looking forward to an exciting year with our incoming 7th graders and another wonderful year with this year's 8th Grade Concert Band.  Jazz Ensemble will be a blast too!
