Homework

Reading is an essential part of each child's daily routine. Select books that are "just right" for independent reading. Re-reading of favorite books is a great way to build fluency.
Read-alouds are also a very important component of success. Modeling enthusiasm for reading will spark your child's interest and ensure success.
Reading logs  go home every Friday along with a book baggy containing four books. Please have your child fill them out and return them to school every Friday.

Math Home Links are sent home regularly. Returning these Home Links is strongly suggested. Every link reinforces the concepts that were discussed in class. They are direct extensions of our daily lessons. Work with your child to be sure that they understand the content of the daily lesson.
This is a wonderful way to encourage cooperation between home and school. It is also a great way for your child to show off their newfound abilities.
Establishing homework routines is a wonderful way to prepare your child for the increased expectations of each ensuing school year. When January arrives, I will expect all homework to be returned to school.
