2/1/2018 - CHS Model UN Annual Trip to Yale
The CHS Model UN Club returned recently from its annual overnight trip to Yale University in which students participated in debates over global issues with over 1600 students from around the world.

A total of 44 Canton High School students took on the role of a delegate from a specific country and worked with other students from around the world using Parliamentary Procedures to find solutions to global problems. Among these problems were nuclear proliferation, human trafficking, the European migrant crisis, and the Syrian Civil War. There were over 30 different committees on campus and Canton High School engaged in almost every one of them.

Of special note, Senior Clark Walburger was awarded the "Best Delegate" in the Historical Security Council, a specialized committee, acting as the USSR. Clark debated the 1883 German colonization of present-day Namibia as well as the conflicts in Sri Lanka in the 1980s. Congratulations Clark!

If you are interested in joining the Model UN Club, please see Ms. Mocarski. There will also be a club meeting in early September of 2018. Listen out for announcements!
