Genocide Panel Discussion Presenters
Dr. Patt is the Philip D. Feltman Professor of Modern Jewish History at the Maurice Greenberg Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Hartford, where he is also director of the Museum of Jewish Civilization. Previously, he worked as the Miles Lerman Applied Research Scholar for Jewish Life and Culture at the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM). Dr. Patt teaches courses on Modern Jewish History, American Jewish History, Responses to the Holocaust, the History of Zionism and the State of Israel, Jewish film, and Modern Jewish Literature among others.
Jeff Israel’s parents are/were Holocaust survivors and he is active in telling his family’s holocaust story to interested groups. Jeff is a native of Connecticut and grew up in Hartford where he attended local schools. Jeff is a member of Voices of Hope which was established by the families of Holocaust Survivors across Connecticut. Voices of Hope’s mission is to foster a culture of courage and social action against hate, bigotry, intolerance and indifference.
Both of these gentlemen were speakers to the Sophomore Class on Thursday, November 19th in our auditorium.
