11/13/2015 - Mia Tuccillo Receives the Farmington Valley Superintendents's Award
Mia Tuccillo was selected to receive the Farmington Valley Superintendent's Award for service, leadership and citizenship. Students and their families will be recognized at a luncheon at the Farmington Country Club on November 13th. Mia's incredible work ethic, excellent
interpersonal skills, and intelligence are assets which have served her well in
her numerous leadership roles and surely contributed to her receiving this honor. As a member of the National Honors Society, the
Science National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society, Mia has
taken leadership and service seriously and has supported Canton High School in
many positive ways. For the past two
years she has served as a student representative to the Board of Education and
has been instrumental reporting school news, and expressing the opinions of the
student body. She is the president of the Class of 2016, an executive member of
the GSA and chemistry club as well an active member of our Model UN and ESTEEM
programs. Her passions include music, where she performs as a member of our
esteemed chamber singers and the award winning jazz ensemble. All this while
performing in the yearly musical and participating in athletics as a member of
our varsity soccer and track and field teams. She has received academic awards
including the Yale Book Award and several subject area awards. Most
importantly, Mia has exemplary character, is kind and respectful to all. Congratulations Mia!
