5/7/2021 - NHS Invasive Species Clean Up
If you will be taking a walk, head toward the pollinator pathway located between Dyer Avenue and Maple Avenue, and you will see the work members of the National Honor Society (NHS) from this past Saturday. Nine members of the NHS, led by advisor Mrs. Leigh Connole, teamed up with community members to remove invasive plant species along the pathway. Led by several Master Gardeners including Karen Berger and Theresa Barger, as well as Janet Loynes and Michele Jenks, students helped to remove species such as Garlic mustard, Honeysuckle, Asian bittersweet, and Mugwort, and also learned a little about these species! Check out the chs website for pictures of the students hard at work and of the beautiful area right down the road from the high school.
