Blount Reporter, Wife, Child Killed
In Crash on Highway

The site of the car crash that killed a local family
of three.
Yesterday
a fatal car crash shook the small town of Blount, Pennsylvania. A head
journalist at the Blount Telegrapher, his wife, and their only child
were killed while driving on Route 22.
The family was said to have been going on vacation, as luggage was discovered
in the wreck.
Investigators say that the victims
did not suffer, that instead they were killed instantly on impact when
their car collided head on with a segment of the guardrail that runs
alongside the road. All three family members were dead when ambulance
personnel arrived at the scene. It is not known how this tragic event
occurred, but investigators assume that the driver was momentarily distracted.
Investigators do not believe that another car was involved in any way.
The crash occurred at roughly 3:15
yesterday afternoon. Several witnesses called the police immediately
following the accident. One of the witnesses, a Mr. Donald Grey, reported
to police, As I was driving up Route 22, I saw the car lose control
to the right of me and veer into the woods. The car appeared to be attempting
to pull back onto the highway, but it crashed into the guardrail before
it could do so.
The witness also reported that when
he saw this happen he stopped his car and called the police, hoping
to be of assistance to the strangers.
Anthony Delmonte, his wife Martha,
and their child, Paul, lived in Blount their entire lives.
The police have not identified any
living relatives of the family, however, colleagues and neighbors throughout
Blount will miss the Delmontes.
