Today, artists use computers
as a tool in many different ways for things like digital painting,
image editing, illustration, page design, web design, film and video
editing and animation (both 2D and 3D). This course consists of 2
components: Computer Animation and Computer Graphics.
In the Computer Graphics portion of the course
students will create, produce and disseminate information, ideas and
feelings expressed through words, symbols and digital images printed
on paper, and other materials through a series of tutorials and assignments
using Adobe Photoshop software.
In the Animation portion of
the course the student becomes the producer, art director, cinematographer
and director all rolled into one. The “actors” consist
of objects the student builds in LightWave 3D’s Modeler interface
and choreograph their objects movement, lights and camera in LightWave’s
Layout interface.
Advanced level students will work on individual projects.
This course is available to a maximum of 15 students,
who have successfully completed the Art 9 Experiential
and Visual Arts Survey 1 courses or with the permission of the instructor.
