Ms. Randall's Homework Page                     (4th Grade Special Ed Teacher)   Welcome to Ms. Randall's homework page!  Parents, you can be reassured that your child will have both math and reading homework every night (excluding Friday) which will be posted on my homework page to better guide your child towards SUCCESS!!!  Please feel free to check out my page every week..........   Tips for Reading:  You child will have a Reading Response Guide attached to his/her Reader's Notebook. The guide lists 13 different written ways to respond to reading where your child will choose from after they have completed 20 minutes of  reading.  Most of the responses have a model for your child to follow. The listed Reading Responses incorporate many of the effective strateiges CIS teaches such as summarizing, visualizing, inferencing, context clues and connecting to the text. You will also notice there are response questions that are specifically for nonfiction only. I will be teaching each strategy individually. Once the strategy has been introduced and practiced, a sticker will be placed on the Reading Response in the guide, indicating  your child's readiness to use the strategy for homework.
