will complete the following GRASPS
task:
GOAL:
To obtain employment as a socially conscious scientific
researcher.
ROLE: A
job applicant seeking employment.
AUDIENCE:
Interview panel of administrators and researcher/inventors.
SCENARIO: Your
interview for the job consists of a demonstration of the following:
1.To
research the history and
development of an existing product.
2.
To propose a modification of that
product, identifying the scientific method by which the new product will be developed and tested.
3.To submit a research paper including detailing the expected impact the new
product will have on society.
PURPOSE: To
convince the interview panel at the Bureau that by virtue of your demonstrated research
skill, scientific aptitude, and computer literacy, that you are the best candidate for the research
position.
Standards: You will be evaluated on the thoroughness of your chosen research. Also on
your ability to apply the scientific method to product test design, as well as your
interpretation of the impact of your product on man and society, as presented using text and
specified computer programs.

WHAT
WILL MY FINAL PROJECT LOOK LIKE?
1.
A research paper is due to Mrs. Cimini, with a formatted bibliography, and spreadsheets/graphs/charts relating to your product or process.
2.
A Storyboard that plans out your computer presentation must be
completed prior to beginning computer
production.
3.
A computer
presentation using DIRECTOR
animation, video and/or sound with a menu
that shows your researched product
or process, the problem or opportunity you have identified, the modification of the product or process and the affect on
society by your changed product or
process. The recommended format
for your presentation is an Advertisement or Public Service Announcement.
