Debbie Blaine ESL and DRAMA First and foremost, I am the ESL tutor/teacher for the entire Canton School district.  I have taught ESL in some form or another since 1977 when  I started as a director for an English as a second language program for Arlington Schools in Arlington, VA.   I am currently servicing 18 non-native speakers of  English in grades K- 10.  These children are from China, Russia, Poland, Equador, Yemen, and Israel. This year I have taken on the additional responsibility of Drama Director for the high school.  My undergraduate degree was in speech and theatre and English secondary education.  I have dabbled in professional acting and modeling over the years, and  I  directed the high school plays for Granby Schools while my kids were students there. Our newly formed club meets every Tuesday, immediately after school, in the auditorium.  The meetings consist of a business meeting followed by an acting workshop.  New members are always welcome. We will be producing a full three-act play, "The Curious Savage", in April of 2005.  Auditions are open to the entire high school population.
